Back in March, PSDS supporters Lexi and Leftheris set themselves a challenge for Down Syndrome Awareness Week. Amongst other things, they planned to walk 21,000 steps by visiting 21 tube stations in London to raise funds for PSDS. But lockdown 1 put a stop to that ambition! With friends and family making donations in support of their endeavours, Lexi and Leftheris were determined that the pandemic would only put a temporary pause to their plans and they would somehow complete their challenge at some point in the year. So during lockdown 2 they clocked up their 21,000 steps target with a walk in the great outdoors instead.
Inspired by their friendship with PSDS member Finn and his family, Lexi and Leftheris smashed their £600 target with a fundraising total of £850. What's more, the dynamic duo are already planning a new challenge for Down Syndrome Awareness Week next March.
Commenting on their combined efforts, Lexi said: "It has been a mad year, but we are definitely up for doing our best again next March! It must have been so tough for PSDS to raise funds this year - we just want to do what we can to help!"
Thank you Lexi and Leftheris - we are extremely grateful for your support and your efforts to raise funds for PSDS during the past two years. Here's to a fundraising hattrick in 2021 !!
