Rising To The 2.6 Challenge

Owing to the 2020 Virgin Money London Marathon being postponed as a result of Covid-19, a nationwide fundraising campaign called The 2.6 Challenge was launched with the aim of helping smaller charities in particular to raise much needed funds.

We are delighted to announce that we raised just under £2,500 for PSDS by taking part in the 2.6 Challenge during the last week of April and the first week of May.

Some of our fabulous young people decided to get involved and set themselves challenges to complete at home, plus friends and supporters of PSDS got in on the act too.

We are hugely grateful to the whole PSDS 2.6 Challenge team which included:

- PSDS member Jack and his family completing a 2.6 mile walk

- PSDS supporter (and godmother to PSDS member Chloe) Tanya who smashed a whole week of challenges including a 2.6 mile run, a 26km bike ride, 260 burpees, 260 kettlebell swings and a 26km row

- Charlie, brother of PSDS member Sam, who also did a number of challenges based around the number 26 including 26 jumps on the trampoline

- The Taylor Family, friends and god-family of PSDS member Pippa, who did 3 x 2.6km circuits of a garden relay at their home in Godalming

- PSDS member Sam and his dad, Peter (PSDS Treasurer), each swam 26 lengths

- PSDS member Thea completed a week of activities including 26 TikTok dances, baking 26 cupcakes, running 26 lengths of her garden and playing balloon tennis for 26 minutes

Thank you to all our Stay At Home Heroes who rose to the 2.6 Challenge and thank you to all their family members and friends who donated in support.
