Peak Performance

You've heard of the Magnificent Seven. Well, say hello to the Phenonemal Eight - Lenise, James, Francois, Will, Yani, Dennis, Clare and Ali have just scaled the highest peaks of Scotland, England and Wales to raise funds for PSDS.

Not only did Lenise, James and their teammates take on the 3 Peaks, they took on the weather too. Conditions during the weekend of their challenge (10th/11th August) were incredibly challenging to say the least, as you can see from the photos below. At what should have been the height of our Summer, weather warnings were issued for much of the UK.

But the wonderful walkers stepped up and kept putting their best feet forward - making it to the top of Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdown, even if they didn't get much of a view when they made it!

Commenting on their experience, Lenise said: "It was exhilarating and exhausting at the same time. The views at the top of each mountain were non-existent and the weather on Scafell Pike was very much against us. But we did it and I couldn't be prouder of my team!"

Lenise and James decided to embark on this adventure in support of the PSDS 21 Champions Challenge. With friends and family members getting involved too, the results have far exceeded their expectations.

Collectively, the team has raised an outstanding amount of £7,644 and donations are still coming in. For a charity of our size, support like this has a HUGELY positive impact. We are so grateful to Lenise, James, Francois, Will, Yani, Dennis, Clare and Ali for taking part in the PSDS 21 Champions Challenge and to everyone who has donated.

(PS - we totally understand why the PSDS t-shirts didn't make it out of the back-packs for a celebratory photo - the weather was no where near as warm as the smiles at the end of the challenge!)
