Sarah’s Marathon Mission
PSDS member Sarah is taking on the Brighton Marathon in April to raise funds for PSDS. We asked Sarah to tell us more about why she is taking on this challenge:
“PSDS has been a huge help to us over the last few years, I want to return the favour by helping to raise much needed funds. When it comes to needing help, whether it’s speech therapy, occupational therapy or physio it can be so hard to get anything out of your local authority – everything seems to be a fight. But thanks to attending Digbies we’ve had access to speech therapy and occupational therapy as well as help getting Roxy ready for school – support didn’t stop even during the various lockdowns. Now, PSDS is providing support to Roxy’s school with training such as Makaton and advice on the best approaches when it comes to teaching children with Down Syndrome. PSDS has simply been amazing and we’re incredibly grateful!”
Good luck Sarah from all at PSDS – we can’t wait to hear how you get on and we know that Roxy will be waiting to give you a big hug at the finishing line.
