Sensational Sisters

As part of Down Syndrome Awareness Week, Sam's sister, Kate, and Emily's sister, Molly, spoke to the pupils and staff at The Hawthorns School to raise awareness about Down syndrome and the support given by psds. The girls worked hard to put together an informative assembly including photos that they took at a recent psds monthly gathering to show the charity and the children in action. Talking about their decision to celebrate DS Awareness Week in this way, Kate said, "We felt it would be nice to do an assembly to raise awareness. I was relieved once I had done it and felt very proud of Molly and myself." Molly added, "We wanted to do the assembly to help our brothers and sisters with Down syndrome, who have their whole lives ahead of them. I was nervous but really enjoyed it and we were beaming at the end. I feel very proud of myself and Kate." And we are very proud of you too girls - not only have you succeeded in raising awareness, you also helped to raise £680 for psds from a school collection after the year 4 show. Thanks to all the pupils, staff and parents at The Hawthorns for their support. Brilliant work, Kate and Molly - you have done Sam and Emily and us all at psds proud!
