We are so grateful to the PSDS families who have taken part in Down Syndrome Awareness Week this year.
In addition to raising awareness (both of PSDS and all our fabulous children!), families have been busy raising funds too.
A number of families were inspired by the Odd Socks theme to this year’s World Down Syndrome Day (21st March) and the results speak for themselves!
Thanks to Harvey’s mum, Steph, for persuading Harvey’s pre-school (St Martins in Epsom) to take part and raise £100 for PSDS. Well done Steph, especially as Harvey usually prefers to go bare-foot rather than wear socks.....!!
Also embracing the Odd Socks theme were Brambles Pre-School and Barrow Hedges Primary School, both located in Carshalton. Billy attends Brambles Pre-School and his brother, Nathan, goes to Barrow Hedges. Proud mum, Lu, managed to get both schools to support the Odd Socks initiative and raised £85 for PSDS in to the bargain! Lu’s boys look very striking (and stripy!) in their odd socks as you can see below.....
