A nice stroll along the seafront is a very enjoyable way to pass an hour or two....But what about 16 hours? That's how long Edward's dad, Jon, his brother Steve and their pal Rich walked recently on their latest fundraising adventure for psds. Jon and Rich are no strangers to an epic trek - remember their 27 mile Trips for Chips last year (walking from Horley to Brighton for a bag of chips!)? Well, the boys have smashed their mileage this time (no chips as far as we know!) as they managed to clock up a fantastic 70 miles. Their journey started at 8.30am on Saturday 28th May where they bid farewell to Brighton Pier heading east. They reached Seaford at 1pm, strolled in to Eastbourne at 5pm and in spite of a 14% hill incline creating mammoth blisters and lots of leg pain they made it to Hasting 12 hours after setting off. The poor lighting made it impossible to continue safely along the Hastings Hills, so they turned around to head back the way they came - determined to walk for another 12 hours. But in the early hours of Sunday morning they had to call it a day - the blisters and leg pain had finally taken their toll. The boys had clocked up an amazing 70 miles in 16 hours and with gift aid have raised an incredible total of over £700 for psds. A really fantastic result and we hope worth the pain!! Thanks Jon, Steve and Rich for putting yourselves through such an ordeal on our behalf - we really do appreciate all your hard work. We hope you are all feeling rested and your latest endeavours haven't put you off Brighton....we think you three Rock!
